- Well I just fixed my CyberVision problem and I wanted to post to let others
- know about my experience in case they find themselves in the same situation.
-
-
- System:
-
- A4000/040, Buster 09, A3640 Rev. 3.0, CyberVision64
-
-
- Symptoms:
-
- Gurus 8000 0004 sporadically during use. That is, I can get the board working
- fine with all the software but after a while it will inevitably crash. In
- this condition, it's really not usable.
-
-
- Solution:
-
- Upgrade A3640 to Rev 3.1.
-
- I got this from an archive provided by Paul Kolenbrander, so get it here:
- ftp://ftp.iaehv.nl/pub/users/paul/amiga/A4KPALS.LHA
-
- This is a very simple modification. Probably any electronics repair shop can
- do it in less than 5 minutes. Bring them your board and tell them to:
-
- "lift pin 6 of the U200 chip..."
- "short pads 6 and 7 of the U200 chip..."
-
- This is the cut and jumper modification mentioned in Dave Haynie's "definitive
- buster" which will upgrade A3640 from 3.0 to 3.1. Unless you are really good
- at soldering, have someone else do it for you. I tried it myself and I made
- a mess- my board no longer worked! Then I took it to the local electronics
- shop and they did it in less than 2 minutes. They charged me $5 for it. Now
- my Cybervision works fine.
-
- Until now, I hadn't gotten a definite response indicating exactly how to solve
- the problem. I just thought I'd post to let others know that I tried this and
- it works fine.
